Viña Morandé had 30 wines classified above 90 points in the 2023 edition of Guia Descorchados. Once again, the winery presented its portfolio to Patricio Tapia, who awarded the wines great recognition as Best Sparkling with Morandé Brut Nature; 96 points for House of Morandé 2020; 94 points for VIGNO 2022 and 94 points for Morandé Black Series Chardonnay 2021, to name a few, in addition to making it one of the Chilean wineries with the highest number of wines published in the latest edition of the prestigious.

The large number of wines classified with more than 90 points in the guide attests to the quality of Viña Morandé and its scores constantly being highlighted by this important guide. Demonstrating the consistency of Viña Morandé throughout its history”, explains Keli Bergamo, educator and representative of the brand in Brazil.

In April, Viña Morandé Brasil was present at the launch tasting of Guia Descorchados 2023 in São Paulo, represented by João Carlos Prado Filho and Keli Bergamo in one of the most anticipated events in the wine calendar in Brazil. A unique opportunity to get to know the main highlights and talk to producers, enologists and importers.

In fact, Patricio Tapia has described Viña Morandé as “a defining winery in the recent history of Chilean wine”. Added to this is the great recognition achieved in its 2022 edition, where Viña Morandé was elected Winery of the Year, in addition to nominating House of Morandé as Best Red Wine in Chile, Best Red Blend and Best Maipo Wine.

Since its founding in 1996 by one of the most distinguished winemakers in the Chilean industry, Pablo Morandé, Viña Morandé has always stood out for its pioneering spirit and vision and its clear focus on innovation, finding among its main milestones being the first winery to plant vines in the Casablanca Valley, a pioneer in planting high-density fields, a pioneer in launching a line called Aventuras focused on highlighting the unknown diversity of Chilean terroirs; one of the first wineries to rescue terroirs and ancestral winemaking techniques, to name a few.

For the elaboration of the Descorchados guide, written annually since 1999, the distinguished journalist Patricio Tapia tasted more than 1,800 wines from north to south, trying to represent all the diversity of Chile, consolidating Descorchados as the most respected wine publication in Chile and South America .
